A&P outsources maintenance services

NEW YORK — The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. has awarded a three-year contract to USM Services, a division of Emcor Group, Norwalk, Conn., to provide facilities management services to the chain’s 336 stores in the Northeast.

USM will be responsible for comprehensive facilities management for the A&P locations, including maintaining food service equipment. In addition to performing full electrical, fire protection, plumbing services, as well as all landscaping, and snow removal services, USM’s scope of work also includes repairs and maintenance to ceilings, fixtures, floors, sidewalks, windows, cabinets, doors, compactors, lighting, material handling equipment, and parking lots.
