Protection programs provider Assurant appoints new SVP
Assurant Solutions, a leading provider of extended protection programs and services, has appointed Jeff Unterreiner as SVP of its extended protection solutions business.
Unterreiner now has overall management responsibilities for the company’s extended service contract and vehicle service contract business.
Assurant Solutions designs customized protection programs for retailers, manufacturers and vehicle dealers that, according to the company, enhance revenue, maximize brand loyalty, minimize risk and increase customer satisfaction. The company’s programs protect items such as cell phones, tablets, televisions, vehicles and kitchen appliances.
Unterreiner began his career at Assurant as an intern in the sales department more than 17 years ago. He has seen it evolve from a private company with a focus on niche specialty insurance to a publicly held, global leader in protection programs and services.
“Recently, I spent two years as CMO for our company in Europe. Marketing across the EU in 27 different countries with multiple currencies and languages was a real challenge. During that time I’m proud to say that we were able to make a positive difference for our European clients. This remarkable experience gave me a broader perspective that will be helpful as we continue to strengthen our brand and further solidify our leadership position in the extended protection industry,” Unterreiner said regarding the importance of having a global perspective.
Assurant Solutions custom designs its products to the needs of the retailers for whom they work, which in turn affords retailers the ability to a seamless brand experience for their customers. Its online mobile and web-based tools enable retailers to manage plans and hand6le claims efficiently.
