Saks dresses up new Fla. store
SARASOTA, Fla. — Saks Fifth Avenue has revealed more details about its new two-level, 80,000 sq. ft. store in The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, Fla., which is presently under construction at the intersection of I-75 and University Parkway. The Mall at University Town Center is being co-developed by Taubman Centers and Benderson Development and is scheduled to open Oct. 16, 2014.
The new location will double the size of the existing store, providing Sarasota with an unprecedented assortment of designer offerings. Topping these offerings will be the local premier of Saks Fifth Avenue’s signature women’s shoe boutique, 10022-SHOE. In addition, the location will feature a new and unique men’s area, an expanded space for the Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Collection, and an exclusive in-house restaurant.
Steve Sadove, chairman and CEO of Saks Incorporated, noted, “We look forward to providing our loyal Sarasota area customers with an expanded assortment of distinctive merchandise and an immersive shopping experience in a beautiful, innovative retail environment.”
The new store will feature furniture and decor from nationally and locally recognized artists, sheltered valet parking and mosaic tile walls.
Saks Fifth Avenue presently operates a store at Westfield Southgate that will close when the new store at The Mall at University Town Center opens.
