Starbucks has opened its 100th store in Beijing, and has announced the launch of Starbucks China University, its talent development program.

BEIJING — Starbucks has opened its 100th store in Beijing, and has announced the launch of Starbucks China University, its talent development program.

China will be the coffee retailer’s second largest market by 2014 and will have 1,500 stores by 2015 across more than 70 cities.

Walmart acquired a minority interest in Chinese e-commerce company Yihaodian, the company announced Friday morning. Yihaodian was launched in July 2008 and currently offers 75,000 products and next-day delivery on essential items from an existing logistics network in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
