At a press event in Beijing, Walmart CEO Mike Duke and Walmart China CEO Greg Foran said the company planned to opening as many as 110 new facilities during the next three years including stores in China’s smaller cities while also closing up to 9% of its 397 units and remodeling 165 stores.

BEIJING — Starbucks has opened its 100th store in Beijing, and has announced the launch of Starbucks China University, its talent development program.

China will be the coffee retailer’s second largest market by 2014 and will have 1,500 stores by 2015 across more than 70 cities.

Yihaodian was launched in July 2008 and currently offers 75,000 products and next-day delivery on essential items from an existing logistics network in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
