REI's members recently elected two new directors to represent their interests on the co-op's board of directors. The national outdoor gear and apparel retailer held its annual members' meeting on April 28 at its iconic flagship store in downtown Seattle, where the voting results were announced.

Co-op members elected Karen E. (Kari) Glover and Sharon Philpott to three-year terms and re-elected Cheryl Scott to a three-year term. Earlier in the year, the REI board re-appointed Chloe Harford and Matt Compton to one-year terms.

The case for domestic sourcing received a boost this week after Walmart was required to recall 73,400 five-piece card table and chair sets sold under its Mainstays brand.

The case for domestic sourcing received a boost this week after Walmart was required to recall 73,400 five-piece card table and chair sets sold under its Mainstays brand.

The recall was initiated after Walmart said it received reports of 10 injuries including one instance of a finger amputation and several fingertip amputations. The product was manufactured by the Heshan Camis Industrial Co. Ltd., of Guangdong, China, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission.

"Our actions were not taken to hurt George Zimmer. Rather we were focused on what we believed to be in the best interests of Men's Wearhouse, as well as shareholders and employees. While Mr. Zimmer owns 3.5% of the stock, it is our obligation to represent the interests of all shareholders.”

Lululemon's chairman, Dennis "Chip" Wilson, sold stock worth $50 million just days before shares slumped following CEO Christine Day's resignation, according to a Reuters report.

Reuters goes on to cite a Wall Street Journal report — which in turn cites InsiderScore.com, a site which tracks insider trading and institutional ownership — that Wilson set up plans to sell stock back in December. Wilson founded the company in 1998 and remains its largest voting shareholder.

McCormick has appointed Lawrence Kurzius as the company’s president, global consumer and chief administrative officer.

SPARKS, Md. — McCormick has appointed Lawrence Kurzius as the company’s president, global consumer and chief administrative officer. 

In this role, Kurzius will be charged with McCormick's consumer business globally as well as several of the company's corporate functions, including IT, supply chain, R&D and quality assurance. Kurzius will also chair the Global Consumer Strategy Council in his new role.

Alan George "A. G." Lafley has rejoined Procter & Gamble as president and CEO, the company announced late last week. He succeeds Bob McDonald, who makes his exit from the company after 33 years.

CINCINNATI — Alan George "A. G." Lafley has rejoined Procter & Gamble as president and CEO, the company announced late last week. He succeeds Bob McDonald, who makes his exit from the company after 33 years.

Lafley has also been elected to the board of directors and will serve as its chair. Lafley joined Procter & Gamble in 1977 and served as president and CEO from 2000 to 2009.

LaRue is the association’s 54th chairman, succeeding Brad Hutensky, president and principal of Hutensky Capital Partners.

Former Coach CFO Michael Devine has joined the board of rapidly growing discount retailer Five Below.

Devine served as CFO at Coach from 2001 to 2011. He will replace Five Below board member Howard Ross who resigned and serve as chair of the retailer’s audit committee.

Devine currently serves on the boards of Express, Deckers, Talbot's, and Sur La Table, and previously served on the board of NutriSystems.
