Columbia Sportswear Company has appointed Shawn Cox as SVP of retail, a newly created position that will report directly to president and CEO Tim Boyle.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Columbia Sportswear Company has appointed Shawn Cox as SVP of retail, a newly created position that will report directly to president and CEO Tim Boyle.

 

In his new role, Cox, 49, will be responsible for leading the company’s brick-and-mortar retail and e-commerce operations in the U.S., Europe and Canada.

 

Cox has 24 years of experience developing, managing and improving profitability of branded retail networks with operations in the U.S., Europe, South America, Middle East and Asia.

Columbia Sportswear Company will sponsor three freestyle ski teams during the 2012-13 World Cup season and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Columbia Sportswear Company will sponsor three freestyle ski teams during the 2012-13 World Cup season and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Russia completes the trifecta, having signed on with Columbia this year. It joins Canada, which signed up in 2008 and the United States, which signed on last year.

Shopping center owner and developer Edens & Avant said Friday that Whole Foods Market will open a new store -- its third in South Carolina -- in the company’s Cross Hill Market retail center in Columbia, S.C.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Shopping center owner and developer Edens & Avant said Friday that Whole Foods Market will open a new store -- its third in South Carolina -- in the company’s Cross Hill Market retail center in Columbia, S.C.

The new store will be Whole Foods’ first in the capital city and will occupy approximately 37,876 sq. ft. in the 74,326-sq.-ft. development.
