Barington CEO to step into Jones Group board

The Jones Group Inc. has nominated chairman and CEO of Barington Capital Group James A. Mitarotonda to stand for election to the board of directors at the company's 2013 annual meeting of stockholders.

NEW YORK — The Jones Group Inc. has nominated chairman and CEO of Barington Capital Group James A. Mitarotonda to stand for election to the board of directors at the company's 2013 annual meeting of stockholders. 

With the addition of Mitarotonda, the Jones board of directors will expand to 11 members, 8 of whom are independent, 10 of whom are non-management and all of whom are annually elected.

Cabela’s co-founder named chairman emeritus

Cabela's co-founder and chairman Richard N. Cabela will be named chairman emeritus June 5, during the company’s 2013 annual meeting of shareholders. His brother, James W. Cabela, who is vice chairman and co-founder, will be named chairman at that time.

PetSmart gets new lead dog

PHOENIX — PetSmart announced that its current president and COO David K. Lenhardt will assume the role of CEO, effective June 14, following the annual meeting of stockholders. Lenhardt will also be appointed to the board of directors at that time. Bob Moran, current chairman and CEO, will be appointed executive chairman.

EVP, pres. of Nordstrom Direct joins West Marine board

EVP and president of Nordstrom Direct Jamie Nordstrom has joined West Marine's board of directors.

WATSONVILLE, Calif. — EVP and president of Nordstrom Direct Jamie Nordstrom has joined West Marine's board of directors. Nordstrom also was appointed as the fourth member of West Marine's governance and compensation committee.

His board and committee service is expected to begin on the first meeting scheduled in 2013, most likely in March, and Nordstrom, like all the other directors, will stand for re-election to the board at West Marine's 2013 annual meeting of stockholders.

Best Buy, which at its recent shareholders' meeting said it would offer more technology services, has announced that it is expanding the Best Buy Mobile brand and store-within-a-store concept into 14 Five Star stores throughout Nanjing, China, this summer.

MINNEAPOLIS — Best Buy, which at its recent shareholders' meeting said it would offer more technology services, has announced that it is expanding the Best Buy Mobile brand and store-within-a-store concept into 14 Five Star stores throughout Nanjing, China, this summer.

The expansion of Best Buy Mobile into the Chinese market is the first evolution of Global Connect, a partnership that was formed in November 2011 between Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse.
