Atlantic Natural Foods has acquired the Loma Linda brand of canned shelf stable alternative meat analog products. ANF will also license the Worthington Foods brand and will transition these products to the Loma Linda brand in the near future. Both brands were previously marketed solely by Kellogg Company.

Atlantic Natural Foods has been the sole producer of these products since 2008. In addition, ANF also purchased Kellogg Company’s Kaffree Roma alternative coffee beverage unit.

Kellogg Company said that its first-quarter results for earnings per share were greater than the company's expectations, while results for operating profit were in-line with expectations, thanks in part to Project K — the company’s global cost-cutting initiative.

Net sales for the quarter decreased 3.1% to $3.7 billion. Internal net sales, which exclude the effects of foreign currency translation, acquisitions, dispositions and integration costs, decreased 2.4% over the same period.

Kellogg Company's board of directors has elected president and CEO John A. Bryant as chairman, effective July 1. Current Chairman James M. Jenness will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Bryant has been a member of the company's board of directors since July 2010. He has been president and CEO since January 2011. Bryant joined Kellogg in 1998. Prior to becoming CEO, he held a variety of key senior leadership roles including CFO, president of Kellogg North America, president of Kellogg International and COO.

Greek yogurt brand Chobani has appointed former Kellogg executive David Denholm as the company’s president and COO. The company has also appointed Peter McGuinness as chief marketing and brand officer.

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. — Greek yogurt brand Chobani has appointed former Kellogg executive David Denholm as the company’s president and COO, effective July 29. The company has also appointed Peter McGuinness as chief marketing and brand officer, effective July 22.

The company will look to the two executive leaders to help it focus on growth strategies and capitalize on the momentum behind the brand, which reached more than $1 billion in sales since its launch in 2007.

Kellogg is committing more than 640,000 servings of food to support disaster relief efforts following the devastating tornado in Moore, Okla. The company has already dispatched four semi-trailers of Kellogg's cereals and Keebler snacks to Moore, with more planned.

BATTLE CREEK — Kellogg is committing more than 640,000 servings of food to support disaster relief efforts following the devastating tornado in Moore, Okla.

The company has already dispatched four semi-trailers of Kellogg's cereals and Keebler snacks to Moore, with more planned. Feeding America is working with food banks in its network, and other relief agencies, to provide the food to families and individuals impacted by the tornado, as well as relief workers assisting the community.

Walmart and its philanthropic arm, the Walmart Foundation, were busy working alongside notable food companies in April, as part of the corporation’s Fighting Hunger Together Initiative.

Bentonville, Ark. — Walmart and its philanthropic arm, the Walmart Foundation, were busy working alongside notable food companies in April, as part of the corporation’s Fighting Hunger Together Initiative. 

Between April 1 and April 30, more than 443,000 votes were cast for the more than 300 eligible Feeding America food banks and partner agencies as part of the campaign, which fights hunger in local communities.

The firms are equal partners in the deal designed to accelerate Kellogg’s growth in a market the company expects to become the world’s largest food and beverage market within five years.

The Walmart Foundation has joined with The Band Perry, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and four of the nation's largest food companies — General Mills, ConAgra Foods, Kraft Foods and Kellogg Company — to fight hunger this spring.

He will retain the role of cfo. The company also appointed Jeffrey Montie to evp of Kellogg Co. and president of Kellogg International. He will assume the additional responsibilities for leading the global innovation, marketing, consumer promotion, and sales teams. Previously he was evp of Kellogg Co. and president of Kellogg North America.
