WATERBURY, Vt. — Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has implemented several changes to its board of directors.

GMCR has elected Norman H. Wesley as its new chairman of the board and appointed former Kellogg Company head A. D. “David” Mackay as an independent director. Michael J. Mardy, who had previously served as interim chairman, will continue in his role as audit committee chair.

WATERBURY, Vt., and PLANO, Texas — Green Mountain Coffee Roasters announced that Dr Pepper Snapple Group's Snapple iced teas soon will be available in K-Cup and Vue packs for GMCR's Keurig single-cup brewing systems.

GMCR and DPS said Snapple K-Cup pack iced teas will be offered in a variety of at-home and away-from-home channels for Keurig brewer consumers in the United States and Canada in spring 2013. Vue packs will debut later next year.

Plenty of consumers love their Keurig machines – 1.4 million of them were sold by parent company Green Mountain Coffee Roasters the third quarter ended June 23 – but those darn K-cups are pricy. For example, Target featured a Keurig machine on the cover of its circular this week with a promotional price of $10.99 for an 18 count pack of Folgers or Millstone brand K-cups. That works out to 61 cents a cup.

The offer appeared quite alluring at first because $30 would help soften the blow of purchasing a coffee maker that is fairly expensive.
