The sales begin April 4.

Maurices (based in Duluth, Minn,) is an 860-store chain serving a twenty-something female (sizes 0 to 24) in small- and mid-markets.

TORONTO — Target Canada has announced its first entertainment sponsorship with three-time Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Michael Bublé. The retailer will sell an exclusive deluxe edition of Bublé's highly anticipated sixth studio album, "To Be Loved."  The exclusive version of the album, featuring three bonus tracks, will hit stores April 22 and continue to be available as Target stores open across Canada throughout 2013.

Following a year of rapid expansion, specialty apparel retailer Body Central said it will pare new store growth to 25 units in 2013 from 39 openings last year.

Body Central opened 13 stores during the fourth quarter to end the year with 276 units operating under the Body Central and Body Shop banners which, according to the company, target women in their late teens and twenties from diverse cultural backgrounds who seek the latest fashions and a flattering fit.

Kroger on Tuesday promoted Robert Clark as group VP non-perishables.

CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday promoted Robert Clark as group VP non-perishables.

"Robert brings impactful leadership and extensive merchandising experience to our team," stated Michael Donnelly, Kroger's SVP merchandising. "His valuable knowledge of our customers across the country will further strengthen our strategic direction."

As group VP, Clark will be responsible for grocery, health and beauty, adult beverage, general merchandise and pharmacy.

Kitchen goods retailer, Sur La Table, has promoted Jacob Maurer to the position of SVP, general merchandising manager.

SEATTLE -- Kitchen goods retailer, Sur La Table, has promoted Jacob Maurer to the position of SVP, general merchandising manager.

The promotion is effective immediately, and will put Maurer in charge of all merchandise buying and product development functions for the company.

Maurer joined Sur La Table in 2003 as a store manager, opening the chain’s first Massachusetts store located in Chestnut Hill. In October 2004 he joined the company’s merchandising team in Seattle and rose to VP merchandising by 2009.

CINCINNATI — Kroger has promoted Jeff Burt, formerly group VP perishables, merchandising and procurement, to president of the company's Central division. Kroger's Central Division operates 136 food stores primarily in Indiana and Illinois.

Mr. Burt, 50, has been group vice president of perishables merchandising and procurement since 2010. He succeeds Bob Moeder, who recently announced his plans to retire this spring.

Walgreens on Monday announced the launch of the "Taylor Swift Store at Walgreens," which will market a wide array of products from the six-time Grammy winner's branded merchandise line. Walgreens and select Duane Reade locations will provide a comprehensive, in-store selection of Taylor Swift music and merchandise.
