NEW ORLEANS — Discover has signed contracts with 50 merchant acquirers that will extend PayPal’s in-store acceptance to more than 2 million merchant outlets by the end of the year.
 
Eight months ago, PayPal announced its intention to create an innovative payment option that leveraged Discover’s payments infrastructure to provide PayPal’s more than 55 million active domestic account holders with access to millions of retail stores, restaurants and gas pumps.

Chairman, president and CEO of Fast Retailing Tadashi Yanai is among the 2013 Time 100, the magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. 

Yanai was the only retail and CPG company executive to make the list. Other notables with a connection to the retail industry included Samsung CEO Oh-Hyun Kwon, Paypal co-founder Elon Musk and fashion designer Michael Kors. Global commerce platform and payments leader eBay reported double digit growth in revenue and net income for the first quarter ended March 31.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Global commerce platform and payments leader eBay reported double digit growth in revenue and net income for the first quarter ended March 31.

eBay reported a revenue increase of 14% to $3.7 billion, and its net income, adjusted to exclude non-recurring expenses, increased 14% to $829 million, compared to the same period in 2012.

The Duff Research team, according to reports, has built more than 40 apps and has won four Best of the Consumer Electronics Show awards and two technical Emmy awards.
