Cabela’s reported a firearms and ammunition driven 12% same store sales increase for its fourth quarter ended December 29, 2012. When those results were released a month ago the company said the favorable trends seen in the fourth quarter had accelerated into the first quarter.

The opening of the 100,000-sq.-ft. Cabela’s store is slated for Thursday, August 30 and was strategically timed to kick off the Labor Day weekend. A ribbon cutting planned for 8:45 will be followed by appearances from outdoor personalities and celebrities, family events and merchandise giveaways.

SIDNEY, Neb. — Cabela’s Inc. reported a fourth-quarter net income of $69.8 million, compared with $66.3 million last year. The company also announced plans to open a smaller-sized format, called Cabela’s Outpost Store, designed for markets with less than 250,000 people.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011, Cabela’s revenue, increased 5.4% to $983.7 million, and same-store sales rose 1.7%. Retail store revenue increased 9.8% to $525.6 million.

Previously, Williams served as president of Fanatics Inc., a vertically integrated online retailer of team and league licensed sports apparel and collectibles, which he joined in 2010. While at Fanatics, Williams led business and financial results with specific emphasis on marketing, IT, business development and manufacturing.

Cabela's reported Thursday that net income for the quarter ended Jan. 1 rose to $59.9 million, compared with $52.4 million in the year-ago period.

SIDNEY, Neb. -- Cabela's reported Thursday that net income for the quarter ended Jan. 1 rose to $59.9 million, compared with $52.4 million in the year-ago period.

Total revenue for the quarter increased 8.4% to $934 million; retail store revenue increased 11.4% to $479 million.

Same-store sales increased 7.3%.

"With this quarter's performance, it is clear our strategies are working and we are gaining momentum," said Tommy Millner, Cabela's CEO.
