The company will test wireless charging with Power Matters Alliance at select Los Angeles locations and plans to deploy wireless charging with PMA in dozens of California stores this quarter, with the aim of expanding nationally and internationally shortly thereafter.

CLEVELAND — Max-Wellness is set to open the first of its new concept Mini-Max stores in the Center for Healthy Living situated on the 83-acre campus of Moorings Park, an upscale Naples, Fla., retirement community. 
 
The grand opening will be held May 7 and will feature a number of services for its 700-plus residents and visitors, including medical and exercise facilities, a spa and beauty center and a 75-seat movie theater.

Saltiel will report directly to AutoZone chairman, president and CEO Bill Rhodes.

CHICAGO — An online grocery delivery service is launching "virtual grocery stores" at commuter rail stations across the country.

Peapod.com, owned by the U.S. subsidiary of Dutch supermarket operator Royal Ahold, announced it would launch more than 100 of the virtual grocery stores at commuter rail stations in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, New Jersey and Connecticut. Commuters in the markets Peapod serves spend an hour in transit to and from work each day, according to Census data.

Import cargo volume at the nation’s major retail container ports is expected to increase 8.5% in September compared with the same month last year, and strong increases are expected into the holiday season despite talk of a possible strike at East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report released by the National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates.
