OAKLAND, Calif. — Cost Plus World Market has launched Victorian Isles, its new spring 2013 collection of home décor and furniture available now through March 2013.

The collection is inspired by the Victorian Era and will incorporate wicker, botany and fauna design elements that were popular during that period. The collection will also feature new furniture shapes, home décor pieces and garden-inspired textiles.

NEW YORK — Victoria’s Secret returned to Manhattan in a big way this week with the reopening of a flagship store in Herald Square that was expanded to 8,000-sq.-ft.

The opening comes just in time to allow Victoria’s secret to capitalize on holiday sales in New York as local demand tends to be complemented by an influx of foreign tourists. On hand for the reopening of the newly expanded and now largest flagship store in the world were Victoria's Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge.

Limited Brands said Wednesday it has promoted Denise Landman to CEO of its Victoria’s Secret Pink brand.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Limited Brands said Wednesday it has promoted Denise Landman to CEO of its Victoria’s Secret Pink brand.

Landman, who is a 12-veteran of Limited Brands, most recently served as president of Pink.

The brand, which surpassed $1 billion in sales mark last year, has 22 stores nationwide as well as a presence in most Victoria’s Secret stores and online.

Retail sales during January offered a mix bag of results and made it rather tricky to determine how much results were influenced by harsh winter weather, gift card redemption rates, a still shaky economic recovery and individual company strategies.

A 1.7% same store sales increase at Target was below the company’s expectations, yet chairman, president and CEO Gregg Steinhafel maintained that the company’s major remodeling effort to add fresh food to existing stores and a 5% rewards program were generating results in line with expectations. Exceeding estimates was Costco, which produced a 6% same-store sales gain at its U.S. clubs that was aided to the tune of 200 basis points by gas price inflation. A big winner during the month was Limited’s Victoria’s Secret division, which posted a 24% comp increase.
